Kitchen designed by Guided Design.
Transitional, Classic, Simple
This client came to us wanting to brighten their existing kitchen and increase their overall storage and space, while maintaining the design and style of the adjacent room. To achieve this, we set to lighten up the perimeter and design something around the beautiful bay window near the sink. We wanted cabinetry and crown to be fitted to the ceiling to eliminate unnecessary cleaning and for ease of view. The island needed to wear well in terms of durability and complement the existing floors. Additional pantry storage was needed to maximize space and ease of use.
Custom Cabinetry
To lighten the overall feel of the kitchen we used DuraSupreme cabinetry in the Hudson door style, painted “White” for this perimeter. For the island, we used a classic cherry with a patina wood finish stained in color “Cappuccino” with decorative square posts. This darker stain blends with the floors beautifully, while allowing for wear and tear and are easy to touch up. Sub Zero appliance panels and a utility pantry with roll out drawers help conceal bulky items. Below the rollout drawers is a smaller compartment with tray divider storage, maximizing organization.
Countertops & Lighting
Quartz countertops with a natural veining pattern were used for the island and countertops as well as a full height stone backsplash. This tied together perimeter and island cabinetry and provided a relaxed feel to the kitchen by minimizing the materials needed. Under-cabinet lighting (although not pictured) was concealed using tape LED lighting with a diffuser encasement and was hidden behind simple light rail.
Cherry Island
The kitchen island was designed to be a major storage hub, but also to allow for convenient and two directional seating for the entire family. Columns were pulled out proud of the drawer faces to prevent wear and tear to the drawers from corner rounding and to create a nice finished look by concealing hardware and gaps between the drawers and the cabinet boxes.

Testimonials

Austin and his team have great expertise, and worked with me on multiple layout ideas. He helped us create a dramatic tall wall of double cabinets which we love! He also helped us accommodate 2 full size kitchen sinks to create our own custom chefs kitchen. He even suggested adding a spice cabinet, and now everyone that visits wants to get one. Highly recommend Austin and team.

Austin’s creativity and expertise were instrumental in making our quirky vintage apartment kitchen into a true gourmet kitchen experience. Austin cares about all of the little details and it shows in the finished product. We enjoyed bouncing around ideas and really valued the Austin’s expertise in kitchen design.
Austin and Josh were great to work with. My cabinets are not standard size and my kitchen trash can system was broken and needed to be replaced. Within a couple of days Austin had a custom solution made and installed. Their attention to detail and willingness to take on a smaller projects was greatly appreciated by my family.
